If you are trying to learn a language and get stuck, what can you do if you need a quick translation of a word or two? Google Translate !
Maybe you have heard of it at some point or another. Google Translate is very cool yet simple online translator for various languages.
What makes Google Translate different from any other online translator out there?
Well, what I like about this website over others is that it has audio and will read words to you in that targeted language. Audio is good obviously because if a person is trying to pronounce the word or expression it takes all of guesswork out the puzzle. That makes it easier to learn and then commit it to memory.
Somestimes when people hear my pronounciation of words or messages I send, they sometimes wonder how I learned words in their language. I have used this very online translator in the past to send or formulate messages to some speakers of Thai and Russian.
Secondly, Google Translate software also has an app that you can use for iPhones or Smartphones. So now you can translate expressions and terms on the go! That's awesome! So now you can use it when you travel abroad to communicate messages.
Just as with any online you can't expect the world from them. You must remember that a HUMAN is not rendering the translation to you at that very moment. Rather a machine or software is performing this for you. What this means is that at some given point it possible to experience some grammatical errors. To remedy this I have found that if a person enters small or single sentences versus very long and draw out paragraphs, this decreases that chance of such grammatical errors or possible punctuation marks omitted in the translation process.
All in all, I still feel that Google Translate, in comparaison with other online translators is much better in quality to learn a language. I hope that you get lots of use from it!
