Should You Learn Another Language If You Already Master One?

Why fix something that doesn't need it right? Wrong!

Many feel that there is absolutely no need to learn another language nor learn about other cultures and lifestyles.  Sometimes they might feel this due to their age, geographical location and many other factors. Some say.."I already speak English, why learn another language?"..or "I'm too old to learn another language"..or "I don't think it's really worth the time". Is this really true or just an excuse?

Well the fact is that this country is every evolving and being exposed to various languages, cultures and linguistic backgrounds. The result? More diversity! This ongoing diversity opens up many new opportunities if you can really perceive them.

There are tons of benefits of learning another language.

For starters, more job opportunities. It's no secret of course what's happening with our economy. Millions have loss jobs and many stand to perhaps lose more if things that improve. Despite this current economical meltdown, many companies earnestly seek bilinguals for employment. Therefore by learning another language you will be increasing the avenues of employment available to you. Also, by being bilingual your pay and salary increases which is always a PLUS!

Secondly, you get more exposure & become part of another world to which you where once unfamiliar. Isn't great to finally understand what people are saying in conversations? What if it's about you? What if it's a funny joke that everyone is laughing at? By learning the language, now you will part of a new world to which you were exposed to before. Now you will able to also communicate and express yourself to others. How awesome that would be, right?And let's not forget about the FOOD!

The truth is that learning another language does involve investing time and lots of dedication to achieve it. But when think about it, what goal in life (big or small) does not require these two things? Precisely. If a person is really motivated in life about something, it doesn't matter if involves losing weight, improving their health, passing a test, becoming a doctor, etc, most never invent excuses of not being able to achieve it. If there is a way, they will definitely find it right? You betya!

So no matter how old you are...level of education you  possess..you CAN learn another language if you set your mind to it and no doubt will reap far benefits of doing so when you achieve it!
